Xiyuan Hospital Successfully Completes International TCM Training in 2023

On December 20, 2023, the training course on TCM diagnosis and treatment for developing countries sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce and undertaken by Xiyuan Hospital of China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences was successfully concluded. Zhang Yunling, Secretary of the Party Committee of Xiyuan Hospital attended the closing ceremony and delivered a speech. Mr. SALAM ARSLAN AHMED, a health officer from the National Health Centre of Pakistan, and Mr. BEN AMARA MOHAMED KHALIL, Senior Traditional Physician of the Tunisian Society of Traditional Chinese Medicine, spoke as student representatives, Fu Jianhua, director of Xiyuan Hospital Administration Office, presided over the meeting.

SALAM ARSLAN AHMED said that this training course was a journey of discovery of Chinese medicine for all the trainees, in which the basic theories of Chinese medicine, Chinese medicine diagnostic and treatment techniques were demonstrated, and that nowadays Chinese medicine is increasingly being integrated into their own healthcare systems around the world, further confirming the effectiveness of Chinese medicine in addressing the complex health needs of our time.

BEN AMARA MOHAMED KHALIL firstly expressed his heartfelt thanks to the training organizers and contractors, and said that as a traditional practitioner, he has benefited a lot from this study in China, and on behalf of the Tunisian Society of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture and its president, Dr. Ezzedine Jebali, he invited Chinese medicine specialists to Tunisia to participate in the academic activities, especially on acupuncture and clinical plant applications, to carry out further discussions and cooperative research.

Zhang Yunling pointed out that the culture and technology of TCM is a treasure of Chinese traditional culture, which has made great contributions to the prosperity of the Chinese nation for thousands of years and still plays an important role in China's national health service system. The techniques and concepts of traditional medicine have been spreading and developing through various ways among countries for thousands of years. The success of this program is a clear manifestation of civilizational exchanges, mutual learning and mutual appreciation among countries.

Up to now, Xiyuan Hospital has successfully completed its comprehensive international training in Chinese medicine, holding 12 international training programs in Chinese medicine this year, and carrying out training in Chinese medicine for more than 500 trainees from more than 30 countries in five continents.
