In 2022, Xiyuan Hospital of CACMS was selected as a National Specialty Service Export Base in the category of TCM, taking the construction of the base as an opportunity to give full play to its role as a window for international exchanges in TCM. In terms of international medical services, it has continuously upgraded the diagnosis and treatment environment and international facilitation conditions, serving more than 4,000 international patients annually. By launching the first overseas intergovernmental outpatient clinic of TCM, it has broken the bottleneck of qualification for practicing TCM overseas, set up a benchmark for all-around service of Chinese medicine overseas, and served 22,000 overseas patients. In terms of scientific research, more than 20 overseas senior researchers and visitors have been dispatched to renowned scientific research institutes and medical institutions in the United States, Austria and Australia, accelerating the transformation of Chinese medicine products overseas through joint research on TCM prescription and evaluation. For 12 consecutive years, it has organized international training in TCM, providing 84 international training courses in TCM for more than 2,800 expatriates from five continents, cultivating a number of overseas talents in traditional medicine management and technology, and laying a solid foundation for the international dissemination of TCM culture.
In the coming years, Xiyuan Hospital will further build a solid international medical service platform, continue to explore the export of TCM services, and strengthen the training and incentives for global talents in order to create a world-renowned TCM service brand.
