Recently, Li Qiuyan, the Party Secretary of Xiyuan Hospital of CACMS, accompanied a delegation from the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine (NATCM) on an official visit to Vietnam and Nepal, engaging in international exchanges and cooperation in the realm of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). During the visit to Nepal, Li Qiuyan, representing Xiyuan Hospital, concluded cooperation memoranda of understanding with the Nepal China Cultural and Educational Council and Lumbini Buddhist University.

The Nepal China Cultural and Educational Council has consistently made significant contributions to fostering cultural and educational exchanges between China and Nepal, thereby establishing a long-standing amicable relationship with Xiyuan Hospital through international TCM training initiatives. Lumbini Buddhist University, a higher education institution directly under the purview of the Ministry of Education of Nepal, is dedicated to integrating Buddhist principles with contemporary society. It has garnered considerable attention from both the Chinese and Nepalese governments, with its development being incorporated into the 2023 Joint Statement between the two nations. This collaboration is poised to bolster the mutual learning and exchange between TCM and traditional Nepalese medicine, deepen bilateral cultural interactions through reciprocal personnel visits and academic exchanges, explore the positive impact of traditional cultural treasures on modern society, and enhance the global health and well-being through traditional medical practices.

In recent years, under the guidance of NATCM and CACMS, Xiyuan Hospital has been steadfast in advancing the dissemination of TCM culture and international training programs, thereby constructing an international cooperation network primarily with Belt and Road Initiative partner countries. Numerous international figures, including Dr. Harish Chandra Shah, the president of Nepal China Cultural and Educational Council, who have undergone training at Xiyuan Hospital, have played a pivotal role in facilitating international TCM interactions. Moving forward, Xiyuan Hospital is committed to actively expanding and developing high-caliber TCM international projects, cultivating overseas TCM talents, and contributing to the construction of a global community of shared health and well-being.
