On March 30, 2026, Mustapha Aboumaarouf, Chairman of the Moroccan High Authority for Health, led a senior delegation to visit Xiyuan Hospital of CACMS. The delegation consisted of Iitimad Ouazzani, Secretary-General of the Authority; Imad Eddine Bezzine, Commissioner of General Affairs; and Salim Ait Belhadj, Economic Counselor of the Embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco. The delegation was accompanied by Zhao Hong, Director of the Europe-Oceania-Africa Division, Department of International Cooperation, National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine (NATCM), and received by Li Qiuyan, Secretary of the Party Committee of Xiyuan Hospital, along with other representatives.

The visit, coinciding with the 10th anniversary of the establishment of strategic partnership between China and Morocco, aims to implement the consensus on bilateral cooperation in the health sector and to promote Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) as a new highlight of China-Morocco cooperation. The Moroccan High Authority for Health, a national-level institution established under the S.M. Le Roi Mohammed VI, is a core department in the reform of Morocco's healthcare system, which undertakes crucial functions such as overseeing the quality of medical services, providing consultancy on public health policies, and arbitrating medical disputes. The visit of the senior delegation led by the Chairman fully demonstrates Morocco's high regard for TCM.

The delegation first visited the hospital's history gallery, gaining insight into Xiyuan Hospital's journey in TCM inheritance, innovation, and international exchange. In the Acupuncture and Moxibustion Department, the delegation members not only observed traditional acupuncture and moxibustion therapies but also personally experienced the "Meridian Robot” - a device integrating AI and sensor technology. In the TCM Comprehensive Technology Experience Zone, the delegates experienced the TCM appropriate techniques such as Tuina (Chinese massage) and cupping, and tasted TCM teas known for their health benefits.

After the tour, a symposium was held. Chairman Aboumaarouf highly praised Xiyuan Hospital's profound accumulation and innovative vitality in the field of TCM. He pointed out that TCM has a good foundation for development in Morocco, and Xiyuan Hospital has already cultivated more than ten TCM professionals for Morocco. He expressed hope for deepening cooperation in medicine management, personnel training, technology promotion, and academic exchange. Li Qiuyan stated that Xiyuan Hospital adheres to the cultural heritage of TCM and upholds traditional diagnostic and treatment techniques, while actively promoting the technological integration and innovation. She expressed willingness to strengthen cooperation with Morocco to promote the international development of TCM. According to Zhao Hong, the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine supports cooperation between China and Morocco in the field of traditional medicine and will provide necessary policy support.

The visit concluded successfully in a friendly and pragmatic atmosphere. Both sides reached a preliminary consensus on further strengthening exchange and cooperation in the field of traditional medicine, and achieved positive results.
