To implement the CPC Central Committee's key initiative of TCM "going global", to fulfill the return visit requirements for foreign-aid training programs of the Ministry of Commerce, and to enhance the level and substance of cooperation between Xiyuan Hospital and its international TCM partners along the Belt and Road, Xu Hao, Vice President of Xiyuan Hospital, led a delegation including relevant heads from the Scientific Research Office, Medical Affairs Office, Nursing Department, Acupuncture & Moxibustion Department, and the Office of International Exchange and Cooperation to visit Morocco and Egypt from June 12 to 16, 2026.

The delegation participated in the "International Symposium on AI-Empowered Integrated Chinese-Western Medicine for Oncology Diagnosis, Treatment, and Rehabilitation", delivered multiple academic reports at the conference, and signed a memorandum of cooperation (MOC) with the Moroccan Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine, witnessed by leaders and experts from the Chinese Embassy in Morocco and the World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies.

During their stay in Egypt, the delegation visited institutions such as October 6 University and Egyptian Chinese University (ECU). Witnessed by representatives of the Chinese Embassy in Egypt, they renewed an MOC with ECU and signed an MOC with the Egyptian Association for Traditional Chinese Medicine (EG-TCM).

The delegation also paid visits to the Chinese Embassies in Morocco and Egypt, engaging in in-depth discussions on policies regarding TCM legislation pathways, bilateral foreign aid training, and joint scientific research. They also delivered popular science lectures and offered free clinic services for embassy staff and their families.

This visit was an important practice for Xiyuan Hospital to deepen TCM cooperation with Africa. Through various forms such as academic exchanges and signing cooperation documents, the visit further expanded Xiyuan Hospital's academic influence and cooperation network in North Africa, injected new momentum into the high-quality integration of TCM into the Belt and Road Initiative, and contributed "Xiyuan’s strength" to building a China-Africa community of health for all.
